Rolex Scholarships for Young Lovers of the Sea

OWUSS (Our World-Underwater Scholarship Society) together with the ROLEX company , announce the Rolex Scholarships to carry out research on the underwater world.

For this edition, there are three scholarships available for young people studying a discipline related to the sea.

The duration of the scholarships is approximately one year and they will be held in one of the following regions North America, Europe and Australasia according to each participant’s turn. You can have opportunities throughout the underwater world.

Each of the participants will have a coordinator who will work with them on scientific expeditions, dives, field studies, practices, underwater photography, as well as other activities that they will carry out.

Over the course of the year, exposure to a wide range of job types and the ability to access and experience specific jobs provides students with invaluable career decision opportunities.

Rolex Scholarship Endowment

These scholarships offer the following endowments depending on the area:

• North American Rolex Scholarship is $25,000.
• European Rolex Scholarship the amount is £20,000.
• Australasian Scholarship Aus$30,000.

Rolex Scholarship Requirements

If you are interested in applying for one of these scholarships, you have to meet a series of requirements:

• Be between 21 and 26 years of age.
• The applicant has not yet obtained a graduate degree by April 1 of the scholarship year and has not yet chosen a clearly defined career path.
• Undergraduate Scholarships in France for International Students
• High academic level.
• Fluency in English.
• Certification as a rescue diver or equivalent with a minimum of 25 logged dives in the last two years.
• Evidence of adequate health insurance for the duration of the scholarship year. 
• Submission of a completed diving medical examination form found on the application.
• If you are chosen as a scholar, you will be required to pass a NOAA test or equivalent physical exam.
